HACK OF PI stands for Hackathon of PAN IIT.

PAN IIT Alumni Association across the world is running Hack of PI to identify, nurture and award innovations from across the globe. Innovations driven by technology across various domains will be encouraged with access to mentors, and investors for deserving candidates. Let’s create the future together.

Challenge format

  1. Ideation phase - April 06, 2021 - August 31, 2021
    Participants can register on the hackathon page and make their submissions. These submissions must contain solutions to the problem statements that are added in this phase.

  2. Prototype submission phase - September 01, 2021 - September 16, 2021
    The prototype submission phase is online. Shortlisted participants from the ideation phase are invited to submit their prototypes based on the ideas that were proposed during the ideation phase.

  3. Finale - The finale will be held on 17th and 18th September.



  1. Connected Learning
    Design/develop new tools/ solutions to for the education industry and related institutions in the post pandemic world: Solutions could range from online education, distributed classrooms, inter-continental connectedness, collaborative learning, etc.

  2. Inclusive Education
    Design/develop new tools/solutions for under privileged children. Solutions should be affordable, geography-independent, and scalable. AR/VR based solutions will be encouraged.

  3. Upskilling and Continuous Education
    Design/develop new tools/solutions to Enable adults to upskill themselves post the pandemic in specific vocations. Development of talent and skill to boost local economic output in critical to rebuild the local economy and boost quality of life.

  1. Mental Health
    Design / develop solutions to analyse and resolve unprecedented complications in people’s mental health and within the immediate communities, caused by the continued lockdown of Billions of people across the planet. Solutions are needed to detect and diagnose mental health conditions, and make solutions easy to access.

  2. Geriatric Care
    Design/develop solutions to address inconvenience and living styles of the generation that built today’s society. This section of society gets overlooked because of other various complications ranging from rising costs, changing lifestyles, migration and pandemic conditions.

  3. Predicting the next lockdown
    Design build data collection and prediction systems that will help alert the next potential outbreak of pathogen based diseases. Design/develop AI/ML based techniques to alert public health systems, and Govt agencies to initiate rapid interventions.
Urban Development and Smart Cities

Develop technology based solutions that will address at least one of the following:

  1. Enhancing Urban Planning and Development through Decentralization
  2. Traffic management
  3. Solid waste management Garbage landfills
  4. Localized clean energy-based devices for domestic use
  5. Electronic waste management
  6. Surveillance and Security

Agriculture and Nutrition
  1. Smart Agriculture
    Design / develop solutions to boost local agricultural production using smart solutions, data analytics. Solutions should be affordable, easy to deploy, and help farmers realize qualitative advances, and financial benefits.

  2. Balancing Diets
    Design/develop solutions to detect macronutrient deficits in children, and adolescents, to enable timely interventions and corrections to avoid future complications in growth and development.

  3. Post Farm Gate
    Design / build data driven solutions to improve supply chains, retain nutritional content, reduce wastage, and other benefits that will impact all stakeholders from the producer till the consumer.
Industry 4.0

Develop solutions based on Smart Sensing, Industrial IoT, Augmented Reality, Machine Learning, AI, Cyber Physical Systems, and Robotics targeting the manufacturing industry to improve production throughput, reduce errors and ensure better quality control, impart flexibility of product variety, track asset uptime and product genealogy, ensure human and process safety, reduce non-value adding activity.

Solutions should enable further integration, be scalable and deployable in at least one industry within 6 months of the hackathon.
